Starting July 9th in Houston, Sarah will join The Polyphonic Spree for a 3 week run to the West coast. Catch her in Austin, LA, SF, Seattle, Portland and more, where she’ll be premiering songs from her new CD, Don’t Disconnect.
While her music has progressed over the years, Jaffe’s voice has been drawing the listener in since the beginning – from her earliest more folky self-released debut EP Even Born Again (2008) to her soulful slightly more beat driven debut album Suburban Nature (Kirtland 2010) to the fully realized The Body Wins LP to her upcoming new album Don’t Disconnect.
For the new album, the Texas native chose to work with Midlake’s McKenzie Smith. The new album is being recorded in Denton, TX at Smith’s Redwood Studios and finds Jaffe further exploring sounds and textures that reach far beyond her more acoustic beginnings.
“Fools Gold” the first track from The Dividends (Sarah Jaffe and S1) is out now and feature’s Wu Tang Clans’ Raekwon. Vibe.com has the premiere.
Today Eminem dropped his latest The Marshall Mathers LP2. Why is this important you ask? Well because Sarah Jaffe and Dallas’ S1 worked together to write a track for the album. The track, entitled “Bad Guy” is the first track on Eminem’s new album.
